Barbara Kingsolver’s Op-Ed on Letting the Confederate Flag Go in The Guardian

In her vision of a transformed South, she writes that Southern pride “doesn’t mean loving the lynchings, segregation and racial inequality that have bled into this place.” For Kingsolver, defining southern pride “is an endless navigation. . . . the duty is ours, and ours alone, to distinguish our past from our future.”
